An old VHS tape of the 1960 production of Peter Pan, starring Mary Martin, shaped Ben's life passions: acting, sword fighting, and crocodilians. Growing up in Redondo Beach, CA, with the Pacific Ocean as his backyard, alligators and crocodiles were a hard find, but not the other two. By age 13, Ben was ranked 12th in the state as a competitive fencer, and in 2008, he graduated as valedictorian from
Roosevelt School of the Arts (notable alumni include Audra McDonald and Heidi Blickenstaff).
Ben graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theatre in 2013 and in 2015, graduated with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Acting from East 15 Acting School, in the UK. Ben has also trained at the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Moscow as well as the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI Denpasar) in Bali.
Professionally, Ben has performed in the US and in London. From 2011-2013, Ben was a resident artist within Orange County’s only classical theatre company, Shakespeare Orange County, working alongside actors such as David Denman (The Office ) and John Walcutt (Titanic, Little Miss Sunshine ). Since living in London, Ben has performed at Shakespeare's Globe and Regent's Park Open Air Theatre and has worked with Timothy Sheader, Simon Usher, and Stephen Unwin.
From 2014-2017, Ben has been touring internationally with CoIn Theatre's production of Hamlet, in which he plays Claudius, Polonius and Laertes. Hamlet has toured internationally to sell-out audiences, including to Alexandria (Egypt), Kolkata (India), and St. Petersburg (Russia). In 2016, Ben officially co-founded
